Course Description

  • The purpose of this professional development course  intended for DCSD Occupational Therapists is to welcome back the OT team, align our clinical practices with district-wide goals for the 2026–2027 school year. This course aims to foster department collaboration, streamline documentation workflows, and refine our approach to student-centered, educationally relevant interventions to start the new school year off with consistent evidence based interventions and practices.

Course Outcomes

Here are the outcomes for the course:

  •  Learn more about updated department materials, align your daily work with the Student Support Services Culture Matrix, and connect with new staff to build a strong, collaborative team.
  • Explore how to design and run collaborative therapy groups within Significant Support Needs (SSN) classrooms. Rather than pulling students out, this model focuses on training and empowering Educational Assistants (EAs) to run embedded developmental and sensory-motor stations.
