Course Description
- The School Assessment Coordinator (SAC) Training 2025-2026 is a professional learning opportunity designed to equip building-level SACs with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to manage state and district assessment responsibilities effectively. This training emphasizes the critical role SACs play in ensuring accurate and ethical test administration, training school staff, and supporting the use of assessment data to inform instruction. Through presentation, hands-on practice, collaborative discussions, and real-world scenarios, SACs will build capacity to support school-wide assessment systems aligned with district goals and student learning priorities.

Outcomes
By the end of this professional learning experience, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the SAC role and responsibilities in alignment with state and district assessment protocols.

Communicate critical testing information clearly to building staff, ensuring compliance with deadlines and ethical testing practices.

Develop and implement a building-level staff training plan tailored to the needs of their school community.

Navigate assessment platforms (College Board, PearsonAccessnext, DRC INSIGHT, WIDA, Kite/DLMetc.) confidently for test setup, monitoring, and reporting.

Identify appropriate accommodations and make accurate student participation decisions based on CDE guidance.

Troubleshoot basic technology and logistical issues that may arise during assessment windows.

Foster a culture of data-informed instruction by understanding how assessment data informs teaching and learning at the building level.

Model and uphold secure testing practices that support student success and uphold assessment integrity.
