Course Description

  • This session will be a wild ride for learning about ways to use facilitation skills to move a group forward. Plus, dive deeper with tips and tricks to present to transform learning for staff and students.

Course Outcomes

Facilitating to move a group forward:

  • Understanding of oneself as a facilitator
  • Learn skills to  lead group discussions so that problems get solved, not created. 
  • prevent meetings from descending into aimless rambling or counterproductive conflicts that end up wasting everybody′s valuable time. 
  • Easy steps to take to prepare yourself to facilitate the discussion and keep it on task
  • Engage with best practices for squashing conflict without wounding pride
  • Leave with methods for dealing with "interrupters," "subject-changers," disputes, personal attacks, and other time-waster events

Presenting to Transform:

  • Understanding of oneself as a presenter
  • Knowledge of how people learn and audience types
  • Skill in designing effective presentations
  • Understanding verbal and non-verbal presentation skills
  • Mastery of effective charting
