Course Description

  • We are excited to offer a summer teacher training program to the Douglas County Schools in which teachers will be introduced to the Dharmic Traditions of India (Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism) in order to better understand these traditions and convey them to their students. Along with learning about these religions of India, participants will focus on the best pedagogical strategies to enable them to utilize this content in various K-12 settings. This workshop will include: 4 days of instruction, discussion, collaborative work time, and one day for site visits to places of worship, when and where possible, for each of the four religions. Participants will leave with a developed planned lesson they can integrate into their classroom with their students.
