Course Description

This course is intended for both student teachers and mentor teachers to do together.  (Only the mentor teacher needs to officially register and complete the course). You will have opportunities to have collaborative conversations and share your thinking with each other to build common understanding and expectations related to the classroom.  You might decide to go through this course in one sitting, or you can do it in little chunks over the next couple weeks.

Timeline Overview

This course will be open until Friday, September 16th.   This course is in addition to the course Maximizing Your Role as a Mentor (required every 5 years for mentor teachers).  

 

Outcomes

  • Identify goals for the student teaching and mentor teacher experience.
  • Prepare for successful collaborative learning opportunities between student teacher and mentor teacher.
  • Explore effective methods of feedback to improve teacher development.
