Instruction to Support Word-Level Reading Skills for Students in the Intermediate Grades: For this course, the audience is Literacy Interventionists/Specialists and Special Education providers working with students who need to go beyond foundational skills in grades 3-6.
After participating in this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe challenges associated with reading multisyllabic words
• Communicate about research-based practices for advanced word reading
• Describe components of the Word Connections program
• Use the teacher manual to guide the implementation of Word Connections program
• Draw from multiple resources to facilitate delivery of effective supports for
students in the intermediate grades - Lead Learner (Facilitator): Kathy Tirrill
