In this class you will learn about:
- The characteristics, definition, and prevalence of dyslexia
- Common myths associated with dyslexia
- The DCSD Dyslexia Support Protocol for identifying students who exhibit characteristics of dyslexia
- Resources and support available from DCSD
- This is an online course
Target Audience
- The course is intended for all licensed and certified educators and any staff members who work with students

In addition to the information shared in the modules, please note the following important dates:
- Beginning of course: August 31, 2020
- End of course: Sept 30, 2020
- This course will be offered every month for the 2020/2021 school year
Outcomes
Here are the outcomes for the course:
- To know the definition of dyslexia and rate at which it occurs in schools
- To understand the difference between facts and myths related to dyslexia
- To understand and comply with the DCSD Dyslexia Support Protocol
- To share the protocol and resources with your team and/or colleagues
- Upon successful completion of all assignments, you will receive 2 hours of credit
