Course Description

  • This class is designed to provide educators with an opportunity to investigate various ideas they can use to improve accessibility in Canvas for all students.  This class was created in collaboration with the SPED/GT/ELD departments and High School PLS.  For the purpose of this class we will looking that three growth areas that will support all students:  Consistency within Canvas; Accessibility within Canvas; Accommodations within Canvas.

Target Audience

  • Open to all HS Certified Teachers 
  • Open to Substitute Teachers = Yes (HS Only) 
  • Open to Student Teachers = Yes (HS Only) 
  • Open to Charter School Certified Staff = Yes (Canvas Users Only)

  • Outcome 1;  Identify various example of how DCSD teachers have improved consistency within their Canvas classes and evaluate at least one specific goal they have related to upgrading their Canvas classes in this area.  
  • Outcome 2:  Identify various example of how DCSD teachers have supported accessibility within their Canvas classes and evaluate at least one specific goal they have related to upgrading their Canvas classes in this area.   
  • Outcome 3:  Identify various example of how DCSD teachers have provided accommodations within their Canvas classes and evaluate at least one specific goal they have related to upgrading their Canvas classes in this area.
