Course Description
- YES, AND! Classroom Strategies to Engage Thinking and Feeling in Your Students AND You *You will leave the workshop with tools to use in the classroom the next day! In this increasingly unpredictable world, it is critical that we invest in the social and emotional well-being of our gifted students and ourselves. This professional learning experience explores some ready-to-use classroom activities designed to develop the courage to take acceptable risks, an appreciation of the complexity of challenge, the willingness to engage one’s curiosity, and the rediscovery of the power of imagination. Along the way, we will encounter new opportunities for creativity fueled by the power of Artificial Intelligence tools, dive down the rabbit hole of despair that is #giftedkidburnout, and emerge on the other side with a renewed appreciation of what it means to be a great teacher. When it comes down to academic learning and social and emotional learning, it should not be an “either, or”, but rather lots of “YES, AND!”.
