The training covers the essential steps of the 504 process within the IMTSS framework, focusing on the critical skill of crafting accommodations that actually work. Here are the outcomes for the course:
Outcome 1: Analyze the brain-based connection between ADHD and executive functions to reframe challenging behaviors as lagging skills rather than a "lack of will".
Outcome 2: Apply the principles of the 504 process to gather comprehensive data and ensure that identified deficits directly lead to effective, specific accommodations.
Outcome 3: Develop and implement a dual approach of accommodations (ramps) and skill-building (physical therapy) to ensure immediate access and foster long-term independence for students with ADHD.
