- This is Part 1 of a 2-part series on social media for youth. This course provides educators with insight into youth social media use and its associated benefits and risks to their mental health.

Course Outcomes
- Explain how the core design of social media platforms directly influences youth behavior and contributes to both positive and negative outcomes.
- Analyze the trade-offs of social media use on youth well-being, clearly identifying the key benefits and the most significant mental health risks, including cyberbullying.
- Determine how a young person's individual strengths and vulnerabilities affect their online experience and apply practical techniques to address risks and promote safer digital engagement.
