Course Description

• This course will cover all the essential process and procedures needed for school counselors to comply with federal Section 504 Law. This includes timelines, best practice, and a look as some common pitfalls and difficulties. The full course is helpful for both school counselors in the role of a school 504 coordinator and those who are not.

• Participants will understand the Why behind Section 504 Plans.
• Participants will understand current DCSD processes and procedures related to section 504 to include completion of related forms.
• Participants will understand their responsibilities as a school counselor and/or school 504 coordinator in relation to Section 504.
• Participants with become familiar with common issues and pitfalls.
