Course Description
- We will be building on the Essentials of Trauma, using the 4 R’s to guide our thinking; Realizes, Recognizes, Responds, Resists matching our interventions with the brain state to support regulation. This course is intermediate and will have time for practice of interventions, case examples, and theoretical models to support trauma sensitive practices including ABA, forced compliance and escape functions. We will also explore the escalation cycle and understand the brain anatomy. We will continue our journey through growing our skills to respond in ways that create opportunities for growth, curiosity and understanding. Prerequisites for this course will include the Essentials of Trauma by DCSD or other training that offers a foundation for Trauma Sensitive Practices.
