Full course description
Course Description
- This virtual course will provide depth of understanding around how to make content comprehensible for Newcomers, while simultaneously expediting their social and academic language development. “Newcomer” English learners, or students new to learning English as an additional language, are a diverse and heterogeneous group of students coming from a myriad of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. There is no “one size fits all” solution for these students, which is why the content of this course is so essential. This course will have two required virtual meetings on April 15th (75 min) and May 13th (60 min) with self-paced work between these dates.
