Course Description
This class is one of several classes provided in DCSD that implements components of the CO-TOP (Comprehensive Training of Paraeducators) Curriculum developed by the Paraprofessional Research and Resource Center, part of the School of Education & Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver. This class is designed to provide skill based training for Paraprofessionals who support students in inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, or in self-contained settings.
Participants will:
- Explain how to establish rules, routines, and procedures for students
- Demonstrate how to teach rules, routines, and procedures to students
- Define behavior
- Define social thinking and executive functioning
- Apply new learning to develop a plan to support student behavior
