Full course description

Course Description

  • This session will support Counselors in providing students with Solution-Focused Postsecondary Readiness and Social-Emotional Learning that is particularly related to Digital Literacy. This is a tailored approach to our students, will build flexibility with Counseling Staff, and maximize the potential of every student to thrive in school and out of school. As we develop a more structured approach to intervention, this training is essential to prepare our current staff to support our building-wide goals moving forward.

Attendees will be exposed to the Strategic Solution Focused Brief Therapy Model for school settings. This means we do problem-solving prior to using Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques. This is the “Ellen Quick Model,” which came after “Insoo Kim Berg” and “Steve De Shazer's Model.”

Session participants will practice in small and large groups with case scenarios and then determine how each can be applied to the specific school setting.
