24-25 CHS ELD Strategies for ALL Learners (5.09a, 5.10a, 5.10b, 5.11a, 5.11b, 5.12a)

Course Description

• Participants will examine the WIDA Guiding Principles and how they frame ELD programming and approaches to teaching multilingual learners in DCSD. Participants will modify an upcoming (this year or next) unit to make the content accessible to all learners. They will start with their summative assessment and work backwards through the entire unit (or as much as possible in 15 hours).

Course Outcomes

• Teachers will create curriculum & instructional materials in order to implement classroom practices and increase access to curriculum for all students. 
• Materials will be reviewed and feedback given by ELD experts.
