Course Description
- The course is intended for staff at Cougar Run Elementary school. This includes anyone who works with students (teachers, EAs, counselor, etc). The purpose is to develop foundational knowledge about trauma and trauma informed practices. The course will provide information about what trauma is, the impacts and outcomes of trauma, and classroom practices and interventions to assist students who have experienced trauma. The course is an asynchronous learning experience that incorporates interactive activities that promote peer engagement and collaboration.

Course Outcomes
Here are the outcomes for the course:
- Participants will develop an understanding of trauma and many other terms used in the discussion of trauma including ACEs, toxic stress, adversity etc.
- Participants will gain knowledge about the impacts of trauma. This includes both physiological and psychological impacts people experience due to trauma as well as the wide variety of outcomes such as diseases and behaviors.
- Participants will learn about interventions for students who have been impacted by trauma they will develop knowledge of Trauma Informed Practices.
