Course Description

  • As we continue working towards becoming a fully Trauma Informed school, this book study will help the DCHS staff better understand trauma, its effects on the brain, and the ways that we as a staff can better support and instruct our students.  This study is a great beginning for those new to Trauma Informed Education, helping them better understand our students impacted by trauma.  Through our time together, we'll discover the causes of trauma, the effects of trauma, especially on the brain with regards to learning in the classroom, and begin to see how we can support these students.
