Course Description

  • Course Description: The purpose of this course is to provide a structured opportunity for teachers to observe and learn from their teaching colleagues.  Research shows that teachers are more likely to implement new strategies when they first have an opportunity to observe a colleague implement those strategies with students.  Participants will have the opportunity to visit other participating classrooms, observe a teaching colleague, take note of instructional practices and strategies, reflect on takeaways/applications, and share feedback with the teacher.  Each step in this observation cycle will be documented in this Canvas course.
  • Type of Course: In person/Blended
  • Lead Learner (Facilitator): Rachel Stewart
  • Credit(s) and Type: 2 hours of relicensure credit per completed observation cycle; Max of 4 observation cycles for 8 hour total.

  • Open to Substitute Teachers = No
  • Open to Student Teachers = Yes
  • Open to Charter School Staff = Not at this time
