Course Description

  • Part #1: Behavior Management / Intended outcomes: Provide staff with a deeper understanding of personal triggers, function of student behaviors, key elements of behavior v. disability, staff objectivity v. subjectivity, characteristics of specific disorders / effective strategies for managing behaviors and staff strategies for dealing with extreme affective needs behaviors.
  • Part #2: Writing highly effective / defensible IEPs and ESY criteria / Intended outcomes: Provide staff with specific IEP writing criteria that will increase effectiveness and defensibility. Review ESY eligibility criteria and answer any questions about specific students who’s IEPs reflect ESY: TBD at this time.
  • Part #3: Superintendent Address / Intended outcomes: See Superintendent’s agenda
