Course Outcomes
Here are the outcomes for the course:
Literacy
- Teachers will apply Deeper Learning strategies to support students in using models, engaging in critique and using descriptive feedback cycles to improve writing.
- Teachers will give students standards-aligned, engaging and challenging tasks that are worthy (meaningful) of student time and effort which yields improved critical thinking and sophistication of writing.
Mathematics
A; Teachers will provide engaging opportunities for math discourse (BEL 7D).
B: Build a stronger capacity and opportunity for students to reason critically and model their math thinking (word problem/application) DIW 2B, 6E
C: Students use academic vocabulary in both written and oral tasks and during discussions. (page 45 of the Walkthrough document) Expand on this goal in 25-26
Professional Learning Communities
A: Teachers engage in collaborative, structured professional learning teams to improve student learning in all core subjects.
B: Teachers will spend time engaging in backward planning by unpacking standards, defining what students need to know and be able to do and offering authentic opportunities to engage in the learning.
C: Teachers will deepen their skill to create and implement opportunities for high quality student work
