Are you a teacher who works with elementary striving readers? Are you interested in learning more about dyslexia, with an emphasis on how to support your striving readers and students with characteristics of dyslexia? This Cohort is open to classroom teachers, interventionists, and special education teachers who work with striving readers in grades K-6. Our cohort will be facilitated by Lynni Nordheim, District Dyslexia Specialist. Sessions will combine a blend of professional learning (using 7 Mighty Moves as our grounding text), and collaboration with job-similar peers. Together, we will develop our knowledge, skills, and systems around supporting striving readers.

Course Outcomes

- Teachers will learn multiple instructional strategies for supporting all students, specifically striving readers and those with characteristics of dyslexia, across the various domains of literacy.
- Teachers will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to support students with characteristics of dyslexia in achieving improved reading and literacy outcomes.
