Course Description
- This professional development course is designed to help educators and support staff distinguish between regulating strategies and reinforcement to better support students with Autism, Trauma, and sensory sensitivities. Participants will explore how to create balanced support systems by understanding that what serves as a regulator for one student may function as a reinforcer for another. The course emphasizes proactive sensory supports, the importance of functional communication, and the necessity of adult self-regulation in maintaining a stable learning environment. By the end of this session, staff will be equipped to use data-driven strategies to decrease challenging behaviors and foster student emotional balance and focus.
